Regina Maria teaser out 09/01/15 A teaser for Regina Maria, the second largest hospital/outpatient chain in Romania went out just before the start of 2015. It is being sold by private equity house Advent International which is disengaging from Eastern Europe. Our sources say that Rothschild won the mandate to sell the chain. Regina Maria is the second largest private provider in Romania. Observers say that Advent failed to get to grips with Regina Maria early on. There were management changes and that meant the group did not expand as fast as it should have done. Rival Medlife, with expected sales of €72m in 2014, has overtaken Regina, at around €60m for 2014. But the last year has gone better and we are told that Reginas sales and margins are on the up. Prospects for Romanian healthcare look good, according to consultant Sergiu Negut, who formerly worked for Regina Maria. He forecasts 10% plus growth every year for the next decade. “The real gains are to be had outside Bucharest.
