Registration is open! We have launched outreach efforts for Creating Community Solutions – D.C. and so far we have received a great response with over 120 registrations! We are reaching out to the general public in many ways and encouraging people to register in advance for this unique event. Our goal is a mix of 300 people who approach the issue of mental health with curiosity, commitment and an array of personal experiences. While there is a lot of interest in Creating Community Solutions-D.C., we know that we will still need to work hard to get the word out if we’re going to fill every seat. Our recruitment efforts will target stakeholders including mental health service providers, people with direct mental health experience, family members, and interested community members. We also want to ensure that 30% of all registrants are youth 14-24 so they can help shape the events outcomes. We would appreciate your help with outreach specifically to youth, service providers and your constituents/clients. Please forward the attached flyer to your colleagues and constituents with a personal message from you or the appropriate person at your organization. Call for Facilitators Table facilitators are an important part of the town meeting and we are recruiting up to 45 experienced facilitators for this event. Many people are drawn to this project because they love public engagement. These are people that have worked with AmericaSpeaks in the past to facilitate discussions on a range of issues. We are also looking for people who work in the mental health field and also have strong facilitation skills.
