Regret... Many times as we interact with people we sometimes do things that we wish we didnt. Perhaps you were rude to a service worker, perhaps you were impatient with your child, perhaps you put someone down just for expressing their opinion etc... Rest assured we ALL have done this and we all do this on a regular basis. We then are filled with regret where by we beat ourselves up for acting this way. We relive that moment over and over again wishing it to be different. We desperately want the circumstances to change. Re redo the scenario in our heads and yet we cannot change anything about it. We treat people badly when we feel badly about ourselves. Daily work using Affirmations and developing balanced positive statements about our self worth will help prevent yourself from acting this way in the future. What can you do if this happens again? 1. People are just like you and they are doing the best that they can do. We are all just looking to be happy and live life in a contented manner. 2. The past is the past and it is OVER. If you find yourself beating yourself up for your actions then take a couple of minutes and meditate using a mantra such as - I am letting the past go.... Today is a new day and I can start over...... I am doing the best that I can do.... Be gentle with yourself and it may take some time. You will see improvement - slow and steady is the key. You may have years of old habits to undo - be patient.
