Regular Chinese Lesson The IHI General Chinese Lesson focus on the development of communication skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, together with grammar and pronunciation. The main emphasis of the class is on practical communication to develop fluency and confidence. In the course, IHI will use IHI Practical Chinese as the main material and offer other additional materials to practise grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and pronunciation. IHI Practical Chinese is the material developed by IHI according to International Chinese Proficiency Test (ICPT). ICPT is the test for non-native Chinese speakers, which is designed by The International Association for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. The student who has learnt the series of IHI Practical Chinese (book 1~4) can recognize 2000 - 2600 vocabularies, and has an ability to use high level Mandarin language and deal with professional work, and effectively meet the social and work situations.
