On motion of Mr. Jernagan, seconded by Mr. Joyner, and unanimously carried, same was ordered paid from the Court House fund. Mr. Luther Diamond presented his bond as Deputy Sheriff with W. H. Diamond and L. J. Shell as sureties in the sum of One Thousand Dollars. Same was approved. On motion unanimously carried, Mr. Joyner was authorized to employ an extra foreman to work his free labor for a period not to exceed twelve days @ $2.50. On motion of Mr. Jernagan, seconded by Mr. Joyner and unanimously carried the clerk was instructed to draw a check in favor of G. C. Cassidy for $110.00 to be delivered to Mr. Cassidy on receipt of a deed being executed by him for a road right-of-way across his land on Milton-Molino road, the board to build the fence on each side of right-of-way. A petition signed by a representative number of citizens, was presented to the board, and it was moved by Mr. Jernagan, seconded by W. J. Wells and unanimously carried, same was granted. Petition as follows: ROAD PETITION. To The Honorable Board of County Commissioners, Santa Rosa County, Florida. We, the undersigned freeholders of Santa Rosa County, Florida, hereby petition your honorable Board to grant a public road along the following described route: Beginning at a point on the section line between sections 15 and 16 in Township 1 N., Range 28 W. where the same crosses the Bagdad-Pace public road; thence run South along said section line to the half mile post between Section 21 and 22; thence East along the east and west center line of Section 22 to the intersection of the present road leading from Bagdad to Garcon Point; said road being on the east boundary line of said Section 22, said proposed road being approximately 2 3/8 miles in length. We, the undersigners further agree, upon demand, without comparison, to deed a fifty foot wide right-of-way to the said County if said road in granted, being 25 feet on either side of center line of said road, through any land we may own along the route of said road with sufficient additional easement at the corners to permit easy curve. To assist in opening said road, if granted, certain of the undersigned agree to promptly do the work placed opposite their names free of cost to said County. The board of public instruction delivered to the board of county commissioners a resolution recommending that Mrs. Mary Miller of Bagdad, be paid a monthly allowance of $10.00 per month during the school months of 1927. Same was ordered done. On motion carried, a committee composed of chairman Keen, Comr (Jernagan) and Engineer Carter was appointed to see what machinery was needed in Mr. Joyners district and purchase such machinery at best price possible. On motion carried, commissioner Wells was instructed to buy a truck needed in his district, and the chairman was instructed to sign the notes. On motion carried, chairman Keen and comr Jernagan were appointed with Attorney Caldwell, to draft and sign such resolution as they deem correctin permitting or granting a franchise for a toll bridge across Escambia and Blackwater Bays. The matter of the sale of the Special Road Bonds in Special Road Bond District #5-A was taken up. After due consideration the board authorized the clerk to notify Mr. Farnham that his bid for the bonds was rejected. On motion carried, Mr. M. F. Caldwell Jr, attorney for the board was instructed to draft such legislation as was necessary in validating all the three bond issues now pending. M. F. Caldwell Jr, attorney for the board, presented his bill for $250.00 for his services in validation of bonds in 5-A, $125.00 in # 6 & 7, attempting to validate which on motion of comr Temples, seconded by comr Jernagan and unanimously carried, same was ordered paid from the General Fund. A petition signed by a representative number of citizens was presented to the board, and after due consideration said road was granted. Petition as follows: To the Honorable Board of County Commissioners, Santa Rosa County, Florida. We the undersigned, being free-holders of Santa Rosa County, State of Florida, hereby petition your Honorable Board to change the location of the Milton-Molino road from a point in Section 15, Township 2 N., Range 29 W. to the city limits of Milton Florida. We hereby agree that we will give deed for sufficient right-of-way through our lands for said road when same is asked for. The following resolution was adopted: A RESOLUTION. WHEREAS, the tax collections for the month of November 1926 were distributed erroneously, in that the one quarter of one mill properly belonging to the Mothers Pension Fund was deposited in certain other funds as follows: General Revenue $39.67 Road & Bridge Fund 59.50 Court House Fund 39.67 Fine & Forfeiture Fund 15.86 Agricultural Fund 3.97 Publicity Fund 3.97 WHEREAS, it appearing advisable and necessary that, the proper and proportionate sums of money so erroneously deposited in the funds above mentioned should be transferred to the Mothers Pension Fund. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Santa Rosa County, Florida, in regular session at the Court House on this the 10th day of January A. D. 1927, and the same is hereby resolved: That with the approval of the State Comptroller of the State of Florida there be and is hereby transferred the sum of $69.67 from the General Revenue Fund of said County, the sum of $50.50 from the Road and Bridge Fund of said County, the sum of $39.67 from the Court House Fund, the sum of $15.86 from the Fine and Forfeiture Fund of said County the sum of $3.97 from the Agricultural Fund of said County, and the sum of $3.97 from the Publicity Fund of said County, all to the Mothers Pension Fund of said County. T. W. Jones, Clerk Circuit Court. Authority is hereby granted for the transfer of funds in accordance with the within resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Santa Rosa County, Florida.
