Regular visitors will know that we are currently playing the epic Horned Lord and Moon Sow campaign in our office games, using the old D20 Slaine system. (Spoiler Alert) We have been playing for coming up to a year now (some of the playing has been a bit patchy - I reckon a dedicated group could get through the whole campaign in 6-9 months) and, last night, the players finally collected the last stones of the circle they have been pursuing since the start of the campaign. The first thing they did was assemble the stone circle in their own capital city (which I am sure the other tribes will find... interesting). They then learned what the stones could do (granting wish spells is the least of their power). So, the players basically have the ultimate power of the world in their possession. And that is where the arguments started. Two players (the witch and the druid) are attuned to the stones and can use them. So, as the witch goes off to report to the queen of the tribe (played by another player), the druid decides the best use of the stones would be to completely drain them of power for the next three days or so so, so he can be given a new arm (he donated one of his arms in an earlier adventure). The other players were less than happy with this, as the stones could not be used for a few days and they considered it somewhat frivolous. They thought using them to locate one of the remaining Treasures of Briton to be far more useful. Anyway, they are now trying to unite the Tribes of the Earth Goddess against a Fomorian invasion as we thunder towards the end of the campaign. Should be interesting, if nothing else! If you fancy getting in on this Celtic fantasy action, you can still pick up all the Slaine books here; mongoosepublishing/ebooks/d20/slaine.html
