Rejection Sparks Direction | Day 26 Mans rejection can be Gods direction. God sometimes uses the rejection of others to move us to a new place, or assignment -- where we wouldnt have thought of going on our own. He must slam the door in our face through rejection to get us to look in another direction. Then when we get to that new place, we thank God for the rejection rather than being bitter about it. This perfectly underscores the mindset, and posture of the Psalmist. Evidently, he had to endure people that hated him and God’s commands. Their apparent rejection gave him a greater appreciation for God’s direction. You too will experience rejection, as well as, disappointment even from the people that you love. It’s important to keep in mind that God is ahead of the game. Since He leads from eternity (not the present); Hes never caught off guard by the slightest bit of trouble that you encounter. This goes for people problems as well. Often times, God will use the rejection of others to draw you into a place of greater focus on His perfect direction. Therefore, view every difficulty, and set back, as an opportunity to trust God more. Perhaps Hes preparing you for a new responsibility or level of trust that requires greater dependance on His leading. Praise God for the rejections, for they give way to greater focus on His divine direction! 129 “Your testimonies are wonderful; Therefore my soul keeps them. 130 The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. 131 I opened my mouth and panted For I longed for Your commandments. 132 Look upon me and be merciful to me, As Your custom is toward those who love Your name. 133 Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me. 134 Redeem me from the oppression of man, That I may keep Your precepts. 135 Make Your face shine upon Your servant, And teach me Your statutes. 136 Rivers of water run down from my eyes, Because men do not keep Your law.” — Psalm 119: 129-136
