Relationships…. Boy that’s a crazy subject and at some point one that always comes up in a conversation from time to time; esp. when you have girls around the house! There is NO perfect relationship but those that are better than others. Reason being, they work at it; they are truthful and respectful with one another. I have also found that relationships work when two people are not exactly a like. You know the opposites attract thing…. I truly feel God works to put together people who compliment each others weaknesses so together you make a better “total package”. Where one is strong, the other is weak and vice versa. God made man to be over the household but I think He intended the woman to be there as an advisory or support person. Making decisions together works. I know a lot of couples try to force their likes or their hobbies on one another or pretend to like those things the other is interested in doing. Like/Love who they are, don’t try to be like them! If you don’t like to fish then go do something else but don’t tell the other they can’t do it either. Just set limits, you go do your thing and meet back up later to do something together. Another huge mistake is thinking you HAVE to be together 24/7. Nope, you will soon grow sick of each other! Guarantee it!!! Remember, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Women like to have “girl” time as well as men liking to have “guy” time to discuss and do “girl” / “guy” things and that’s okay! If you’re possessive it won’t work. Another fact is that relationships should not be based on how much money someone earns or has, their job title, their family name, community status…but who they are on the inside. They can be a Doctor or a farmer…doesn’t matter. Rich or poor it all works out with a happy ending if you marry for “love” and trust together in God. “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 “God is love.” 1 John 4:8 Knowing HIS love and putting your trust in Him will help guide you to your earthly love.
