“Relationships are a gift from God and what you do with them is your gift back.” Categorize your friends and ask yourself…are YOU a reason, a season or a lifetime? A Reason When someone approaches your life for a REASON, it’s usually to meet a need that’s been expressed. Whether it’s to assist throughout a difficulty, to give guidance and support, offer deep conversations or just to aid you physically, emotionally and spiritually; they seem God-send and they are. They’re there for the reason you need them to be and with no wrongdoing on your part the relationship comes to an end. They die or they walk away; sometimes an event happens that forces you to take a stand. Understand one thing though, your need has been met, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now the chapter is closed. The Season Next we have those who in our life for a SEASON, because the time has come to share, grow and learn. They meet our social needs as we experience peace and laughter and do daring things we’ve never done. It’s an unbelievable amount of joy but it’s only for a season. A Lifetime LIFETIME relationships teach us lifetime lessons, the foundations that need to be built. Our job is to accept the lesson, love the person and use what we’ve learnt in all our other relationships and areas in our life. Lifetime friends are as precious as jewels and will always be rare. What Are You? I’ve spent a long time selfishly complaining about my unmet needs without understanding that they have been met. Instead of looking for what I could get out of the people in my life, I should have searched for what I could give and asked myself what’s my purpose in them?
