Relay for Life of Plainville 2014 #plainvillerelay, lots of unbelievable energy, overwhelming for this empathy at times but most of all it was love to which the energy returned again and again. So many survivors and caregivers treated with compassion and reverence regardless of the length of their battle. The luminaries lighting the walk path - breathtaking. Both of my aunts who were unable to attend were represented with lovely glowing lights right by our site completely unplanned. Found my Grammie and her hubby next to her. Right after I did, the song I played for her 16 years ago when she went with the angels began, oh, Sarah McLachlan you can make tears well so quickly - tears of gratitude for this moment. I knew she was there! A great DJ who brought the old school (and a few noise complaints) for this wannabe white girl rapper. The people who walked all night long - 17 teams continued the walk into the wee hours even as the fog rolled in eerily over the baseball field like a giant blanket enveloping us all. Throughout the day I was impressed and awed by the people who came out to support our teams HOPE CHASERS and SO NOT THE DRAMA: Mckenna Rita- daughter and co-organizer💞, Sara Ramponi - walker extraordinaire, Colleen Weeks Grady -what can I say beyond thank you new friend, Kim Walker - my co-captain (and goofy-soul sister 😜), Ashley Walker - who willingly submitted herself to repeated dunking in the dunk tank all in the name of Relay, Jessica Walker and Ryan Walker - cause what is a Relay team without walkers, Gemini Little and Lissa Little - our twins who worked long and late to help our teams, Kaitlin Doonan, awesome prize winner, Diane Brusznicki - t-shirt re-imaginer and sign designer, Cariann Mazzei - regardless of stomach pain brought us awesome t-shirts, Desiree Dupree - who loaned us her trailer, her daughter J who worked so hard to stay up all night, her hubby James for setting up the camper, Violette Radomski - who came to set up, tuck in and break down again, Christine Mac Rae - and her beautiful little trooper, Jessica Nelson - despite a swollen foot and her mother Debbie Nelson, Vivian Bournival - my best friend and support 💚, Haley Scherber - despite full day showed and walked, Stephanie Tata, the Tata, Jessica L Wolicki-Miller - all night walker and her sons, Chiara - my neighbor and late night surprise, core studio and Joy M. Perugini - 💜, our survivors- Nancy Irving Gennett and Patricia Mitchell 🌹, thank you all for helping our teams raise a combined: $1,524 and still going through August. We also won the up all night award. THANK YOU!🌺
