Release Date/Time: 11/8/2014 5:13 PM Incident: Attempted Kidnapping Report #: 14-110380 Date: Saturday, 11/8/2014 Time: 1:29 PM Location: 1714 Burlington Dr. - Steinbeck Elementary School A 5 year old boy had attended a school-related function at Steinbeck Elementary. As his mother was arriving at the school to pick him up, she noticed her son standing near the open door of a vehicle in the parking lot. It appeared a woman was trying to push him inside. The boys mother yelled out to the woman to leave her son alone. The temporary distraction allowed the victim to slip past the woman and safely get away. The suspect, described only as a light-skinned female with blonde hair, quickly got into the vehicle. It sped off with the door still open, being driven by a second female. The vehicle was described as a silver Nissan Altima in stock condition and was last seen traveling towards New Salem Dr. The was no further description on either suspect. This case is being investigated as an attempted stranger abduction. The Salinas Police Department is asking the public for help in trying to identify the people or vehicles involved in this incident.
