Released December 13, 1971 (US) - Feb. 11, 1972 (UK): BADFINGER Straight Up. Their third studio album that took nine months to complete. They recorded a full album with producer Geoff Emerick (a good one too). But Apple shelved it when George harrison expressed interest in producing them. Sessions started with Harrison, only for him to become indisposed with his Concert For Bangladesh. Todd Rundgren was brought it to complete the album. Perhaps their best. Featured the hits Baby Blue and Day After Day. But every track is a gem. The album went Gold in the US even with lack of promotion by Apple. Sadly, the band never saw a penny from this masterpiece. RIP Pete Ham, Tom Evans and Mike Gibbins.
