Released on this date in 1978, Warren Zevons EXCITABLE BOY. Zevons third and often considered best album is rife with the snark, sarcasm and brilliance youd come to expect from the genus. The songs are often threaded with macabre humor and darkly tongue-in-cheek wordplay. From the deeply troubling title track to that one Warren Zevon song everyone knows, Werewolves Of London. The song Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner tells the violent tale of an undead (and unheaded) mercenary in Africa. There is so much that could be said (and I could go on and on and on and still not do him justice) of this mans songwriting skills. So instead I will just implore of you, listen to some Warren Zevon...as much as you can. --John
