Relentless Hope Grief and sorrow come in waves As faithful as the oceans tide Ever present Some times in the overwhelming magnitude of high tide Some times in the periphery of low tide Yet ever present The sorrow erodes at the sand of my emotional stability and peace “He restores my soul” The reality that life does erode Coupled with The Hope of Restoration Under the sand and the crashing waves lies the bedrock of hope Some times eclipsed by the turmoil Yet ever present More evident in low tide Yet also giving stability during high tide My hope is as relentless as the ocean Sorrow may beat upon the shore of my heart Yet my hope remains It would be foolish to deny that the ocean exist It is equally foolish to think that it is all there is Its power and effects are clearly seen and felt Yet my hope is in the One who calms the waves and walks upon the waters Who beckons me out upon them Intimidating though they may be In Your relentless hope does my soul rest amidst the waves of sorrow Though I am beaten by the waves, I cling to the rock that is higher than I My anchor set in You, lest I drift into the depths of despair Your hope brings life until the day I land upon heavens shore May my soul find peace in the one who calms the waves And walks upon the waters
