Reliance ADAG Chairman Anil Ambani was described by the public prosecutor as having resiled from the statement he supposedly made to the CBI in 2011 in the 2G spectrum allocation scam after he told the CBI court that he did not recall those statements. The CBI judge, O P Saini told Mr. Anil that he was forgetting too much. He advised Mr. Anil to recollect at least few thing because not remembering anything could go against him also as he did not remember even the names of his companies. Mr. Saini addressed Mr. Anil as ‘Sir’. The fact is that Mr. Anil should have done something terribly wrong as to why he and his wife Tina were asked to appear in the court. India is not an equal society nor is it likely to evolve that way in any foreseeable future. But then Mr. Anil is one of the most privileged persons in India being a billionaire son of late Mr. Ambani. But then laws appear to be acting against the normal trend. Right? Absolutely no! It just tells that Mr. Anil and his group companies have done something very nasty so much so that despite of country being India, the law enforcement authorities are being compelled to do something against such a powerful privileged person. The reasons have to do with politics and compulsion of the government to quell down public outcry against rising abuse of power by elites and unending corruption. Mr. Anil needs to understand that he and his family along with that of his elder brother Mr. Mukesh are immune up to a limit. Now if laws of India are properly understood then elites are hardly touched provided they strike a deal with authorities. There are a vast number of examples where rich and powerful people in India have been turned out to be above law. Therefore, Mr. Anil needs to get things straight and should return part of the so called illegal gain back to the treasurer. This is the only way for him to get out of this mess or else he would involve himself in bloody battle with rising conflicting consciousness along with the ever rising vocal nationalism. If he does not clear his name at the earliest then the time would tell him that this is a completely different era: in this era in order to be above law one needs to come out clean in public domain. Repentance, bleaching, cleansing and atonement, all are part of public life and one has to be politically correct.
