Reliance House was chosen by the The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Leadership Program as the recipient for their Community Class Project. This incredible group spent countless hours strategizing, fundraising, and collecting supplies for their day of volunteering.On May 3rd, 35 volunteers from the Leadership Program spent all day at two of our residential homes painting, planting, and providing the members with new mattresses, sheets, towels, toiletry items, outdoor chairs, and a gas grill. They even arranged for an ice cream truck to come in the afternoon! It was a wonderful day of helping, sharing, and getting to know RH staff, members, and Chamber volunteers. The result of their passionate fundraising efforts led to their final gift of $4,700.00 donated on June 12th. A big THANK YOU to the Eastern Chamber Leadership Group!!! You have provided us with an enriching growth experience and have helped create a comfortable environment for mental wellness and recovery.
