Religion can easily turn into a kind of obnoxious fanaticism. Sure, America, culturally, has Christian and European ROOTS. But by law, we have a secular Republic. Dont we realize how important that is? Jefferson said, It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are 20 gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg. The way I read the Bible, Jesus himself was often at odds with the closed minded fundamentalism of his time. Like Gandhi said, Jesus is ideal and wonderful, but you Christians - you are not like him. THINK ABOUT IT.
