Religion is a funny thing. It can take many forms. I am religious about University of Kentucky Basketball. I am somewhat religious about my politics. I have been accused of being religious about the Marine Corps (it actually goes much deeper than that, but I can see the point). Jesus is different however. I am not religious about Jesus, although Christianity is a religion. Jesus is the essence of my identity. It is in Jesus that I find who I am. In finding my identity in Christ, and surrendering to it, I become more myself than ever before. It is in this moment of total surrender that Christ can freely live His life in me, and I become the expression of Christ that I was always intended to be. Jesus is more than religion. Jesus is life, true life, the very source of genuine life. In recognizing this I can embrace all my other religions and know that in them, Christ still expresses Himself in me. yet not I , but Christ, who lives in me.
