Religious deception is widespread, but basically unrecognized. When a person is deceived he is misled by false appearance or statement. Such a person thinks things are one way when in reality they are a different way. This sort of thing will abound in the last days, especially religiously. The end days are filled with terrible events. Among the things which characterize the perilous days at the end of this age (2 Tim. 3:1-5) is general deception from evil people.
