Religious imagery is common in the arts. From pics of Jesus and whatnot to Arabic script depecting the name Allah. Its also in music. The Violent Femmes used it quite a bit and for a stage that made me uncomfortable, but now I kinda enjoy it, it works for the songs and feelz they are trying to make.
