Relinquishing Control Posted on November 25, 2014 Good Morning my friends, I once heard a story about a little girl whose father was an airline pilot. The little girl was on a flight with in which her father was the pilot and as they crossed the Atlantic, a storm came up. The flight attendant awakened the little girl and told her to fasten her seat belt because they were in some turbulent weather. The little girl opened her eyes, saw the lightening flashing around the plane, and asked, “Is Daddy at the controls?” The flight attendant replied, “Yes, your father is in the cockpit.” The little girl smiled, closed her eyes, and went back to sleep. Several weeks ago Keri and I were our way back to Stephenville from Weatherford driving down I-20 and there was a flashing construction sign that said, “Rouge Road Ahead.” I looked to Keri and said wouldn’t life be great if we had warning signs. As we talked about the different warning signs, we both said we don’t need warning signs now that God is at the controls. God is at the controls of my life. He wants to be at the control of yours, but He gives us the freedom to pilot ourselves as we wish. The problem is that we often crash, much as we would if we took the controls of an airplane we had not been taught to fly. God knows us. He knows our strengths and weaknesses, and He knows what is best for us. If we will only relinquish the control of our lives to Him, He will see us home safely home. “For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.” (Psalm 48:14) MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU!!!
