Relocation Update 9/20/14 We are truly in the home stretch, with lots still going on at the new church, but most of it well in the Finishing Touches category. We anticipate receiving our Certificate of Occupancy this coming week, after which time we will be able to Occupy! With that in mind, packing our belongings at StopLight 11 begins in earnest this coming week. Many hands make light work, and there is much work to do - so if you have some time available to help, please contact Elizabeth Bauer to sign up (you are welcome at any time, but Betsy can point you to the time and place most helpful to the cause). At our new site, you will see that the landscaping is nearing completion and is looking beautiful. There is still work to be done at the Memorial Garden, but that is being closely coordinated with the complex process of moving the existing garden to the new site. The arch entryway to the Memorial garden was installed yesterday and is ready to welcome visitors. The sidewalk connecting our side of things to Summit Medical has been poured, as has the sidewalk around the social hall that connects to the playground area and the pavilion. (And our stalwart weekend warriors have completed the mulch emplacement today for the playground - so it is ready to go, awaiting completion of the fencing once weve moved in). Our Laboratory Rd sign is now complete (a simple Church directional sign). And our electronic sign on the Turnpike is also installed. Tonight, our new parking lot will be the site of Taste of Oak Ridge - a benefit for the Free Medical Clinic. The church and its extended grounds will not be open to the public, but plan to come to the event to enjoy food from local merchants all for a great cause. oakridgetoday/2014/09/16/food-music-taste-oak-ridge-benefit-free-medical-clinic/
