Remember Bruce?? The old boy I rescued from a Hungarian killing station? If you do, you will probably also remember that he came to me, but after just a few days here, it became apparent that Bruce was taking far too much interest in my cats!!! After sleepless nights & many tears, I took Bruce to my lovely cousin Claire Roby, to foster ........ Bruce has settled really well & is adored by Claire and her lovely family He is great with her dogs, as he was with mine .. though he did pin a collie to the ground ( dont worry, no harm done!! ) & Claire says, as he has found his feet, the terrier in him has become more & more apparent!! It was without a doubt, the right decision not to keep him in a house with cats!! .............. I loathed to think of the day when we would find Bruce a home, whilst hes with Claire, hes just half an hour away ... But, this week Claire contacted me to tell me Bruce is losing a considerable amount of weight & has several lumps appearing on his body So, this morning Bruce has been to the vet, been checked & had bloods taken to check Kidney/ Liver function .. if these are good, then the lumps will be investigated. Bruce is an old boy, with a grade 4 heart murmour ( scale 1 - 6) so I would be very loathe to put him through surgery .... We will wait now though for his blood results. The good thing is that Bruce is happy, and very loved & right now, staying put with Claire ... Which is exactly where he wants to be He has a great appetite & loves his walks & his cuddles ...... Bruce is my responsibility & though Claire is kind enough to cover his food costs, I will, of course be covering all his vet bills ... Please everyone, fingers crossed for our lovely old guy
