Remember Sage? Well, we have more information on her! SAGE, BEAUTIFUL SIBERIAN HUSKY GIRL NEEDS FOSTER AND/OR LOVING FOREVER HOME ASAP Contact is Janice at True Blue Friends at (713) 592-2299 or at truebluerescue@gmail Sage was rescued by an LSU student shortly before Christmas from a shelter in Baton Rouge and brought to his parents in KIngwood as a Christmas gift but they were not prepared to take on the care of a dog and reached out to Janice Blue from True Blue Friends - Rescue and Sanctuary to help them find her a good home. So, on New Years Day, Sage went to True Blue Friends, instead of returning to the Baton Rouge shelter. Sage has beautiful blue eyes and a healthy, thick fur coat. She is fully vetted, microchipped and heartworm negative. The vet thinks she is 6-8 years old. Her temperament is very calm, Not a peep from her, even when an ambulance goes by!!! She loves the museum neighborhood and going on walks around Hermann Park. She doesnt jerk and pull which makes for a relaxing outing. Sage is a sweetheart, very friendly and mild mannered, a perfect house guest!!! She is intrigued by the house cats, and we are being overly cautious, in introducing her to them but, truly, in her heart, Janice feels the best long term home for Sage (and most Siberian huskies) would be one without cats, just to be sure!!! She was fine with all the other rescue dogs but did not do well at a previous home trial. The couple loved her and Sage had really bonded with them, sleeping with them each night, but they think she wants to be the only dog and didn’t bond with their dog. They both just ignored each other. In every other way, they said, Sage was the perfect companion, sweet and calm. The other matter is that she, like many Siberian Huskies, is an escape artist. Janice never left her alone and the trial familly didnt either, but the first morning when she was in their totally enclosed front yard, Sage managed to fit through the bars of their wrought iron fence and get on the other side. Luckily, they were right there, and immediately brought her back in the yard and house. They are afraid she will try to do this again. So perhaps, someone living in a high rise would be the best and safest living situation for Sage, If anyone knows of someone (in a high rise, town house or in a home with tall fences), who is looking for a beautiful dog, and only wants one pet, Sage would be ideal. Please call Janice at True Blue Friends at (713) 592-2299 or via email at truebluerescue@gmail and share far and wide.
