Remember These? Wethersfield High Green Swedish Cookies These are the green cookies they sold in the cafeteria that came 2 to a wax paper bag. (You can cut this receipe in half and it makes several dozen cookies) 4 cups lard/Crisco (1 cup) 4 cups butter (1cup) 8 cups sugar (2 cups) 12 cups flour (3 cups) 4 tsp baking soda (1 tsp) 4 tsp baking powder (1 tsp) 4 cups coconut (1 cup) 4 tsp vanilla (1 tsp) red or green food coloring Cream Crisco, butter and sugar. Sift flour, soda and baking powder together. Add this and coconut, vanilla and food coloring. For large cookies, place by tablespoonful on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until light brown. Sit back and enjoy the memories of WHS lunches!
