Remember back in 2012 when that whole Kony campaign went down? When that guy on the internet made a video to rally people against that brutal dictator in Africa? I was reminded of that at tonights council meeting. Back in 2012, people would show that they supported the cause, Kony 2012, by liking that video on Facebook. It was your stamp of support, you telling everyone that by sitting on your ass and clicking the like button, that you supported the cause. Except in reality you didnt actually do anything, your show of support was completely inneffectual . But it sure was cool to ride that trend, high five you buddy because you supported it. Thats kind of how council looked tonight. Sure, they support the spray park. They support barrier free recreation and all these grassroots groups raising money. All your rabble about support sure sounds great right before you stare right through 55 community members and vote to eliminate the source of funding that might have helped these projects get off the ground. Say you support us all you like. Youre all talking out your ass until I see you put in just a little bit of effort to make this happen. /rant. (Kony 2012)
