Remember friends, our foes are the cheap-labor conservatives across this land. Whats a cheap-labor conservative? you might ask. Cheap-labor conservatives defy a physical description, but they can be identified. See if you recognize any of these qualities in your statehouse today. And in Washington D.C. Cheap-labor conservatives: • Oppose a woman’s right to choose. Some even oppose birth control. Why? Unwanted children are an economic burden that put poor women over a barrel, forcing them to work cheap. • Encourage racism, misogyny, homophobia and other forms of bigotry. Why? Bigotry among wage earners distracts them, and keeps them from recognizing their common interests as wage earners. • Dont like social spending or our safety net. Why? Because when you’re unemployed and desperate, corporations can pay you whatever they feel like, which is inevitably next to nothing. They want you over a barrel and in a position to work cheap or starve. • Dont like unions. Why? Because when labor sticks together, wages go up. That’s why workers unionize. Seems workers don’t like being over a barrel. • Dont like the minimum wage, or other improvements in wages and working conditions. Why? These reforms undo all of their efforts to keep you over a barrel. • Opposed virtually all of the New Deal, including every improvement in wages and working conditions. • Are hostile to public education. They think it should be privatized. But why are we surprised? Cheap-labor conservatives opposed universal public education in its early days. School vouchers are just a backdoor method to re-segregate the public schools. • Like budget deficits and a huge national debt, and, in fact, created it. A bankrupt government has a harder time doing any social spending – which cheap-labor conservatives oppose. • Have hated Social Security and Medicare since their inception and are working to gut both programs. • Are defenders of corporate America – whose fortunes depend on labor. The larger the labor supply, the cheaper it is. The more desperately you need a job, the cheaper you’ll work, and the more power the corporate lords have over you. • Will accuse you of being a Communist, Socialist, and Marxist if you defend the working man, yet they ship jobs to Communist countries and block legislation to stop the practice. • Cut funding to the CDC (Center of Disease Control, in charge of the response to Ebola and other infectious diseases). Why? Cheap labor conservatives believe those funds should be in private hands. • Repealed the Fairness Doctrine. • Leveraged the opportunity to create one of the most potent propaganda networks in human history. • Have used everything within their means to divide America and American families. • Have convinced millions of people to vote against their own best interests, and work hard to take away the vote of millions of others. Does it all start to make sense now?
