Remember how Bella had a bad fever on Monday and the clinic staff basically ignored me and didnt want to help? Well all of those people who did not listen when I said her fever was 105 are being written up for not following protocol. Her provider is in major trouble for ignoring the fever, letting her wait so long, not triaging her, never giving her a diagnosis and according to the OIC (officer in charge) of the clinic Bella should have been admitted to the hospital and kept on an iv with iv medication until she could keep her medication down. So the entire clinic staff who had interaction with me and did nothing are all in trouble and everyone in the clinic is being retrained on triage and how to take care of people with extreme fevers. While it sucks that we had to go through that, Im glad that they are getting remedial training on how to take care of kids with fevers so it doesnt happen to another parent who might not know their patient rights and the access to care standards.
