Remember me with favor, my God, for all I have done for these - TopicsExpress

Remember me with favor, my God, for all I have done for these people. Nehemiah 5:19 Here at the end of Chapter 5 we hear Nehemiahs prayer request to God. Remember me with favor, my God, for all I have done for these people. What will you be remembered for? When it is all said and done what will your time here on earth have produced? For far to many of us our time will have produced a life of going to church, and many church like activities. How many of us will have been involved in ministry that touches people for Christ? How many of us will have truly served God and not have served ourselves because we chose some activity in church that makes us feel good and look good? How many of us will as Paul said will be poured out as a drink offering when our time here on earth is done? My biggest fear is that when my time comes to meet my heavenly father I will not have completed or fulfilled my God appointed earthly ministry. Over a ten year period most of us will have spent or invested 156,000 minutes in church on an average. What will the time you invested in church produce not just in your life but in the life of others? Nehemiahs prayer comes at the end of chapter 5 where Nehemiah has just finished correcting some wrong doings of the former Christian folk who were leaders of the people. Nehemiah had a heart for God that produced a heart for the people of God which is the very compass that directed Nehemiahs life. Nehemiah worked for the approval of God and not man. Nehemiah did not seek compliments or riches due because of the work he was doing for Christ. Nehemiah committed his life to the assignment God had given him to rebuild the wall. Where is your focus at in your service for Christ? What is your motivator in working for Christ? What gifting will you take to your grave as unfulfilled potential? As for me I want the story of my life to have played out as a completed mission for Christ. As for me I want God to remember the works and ministry I worked in for His honor and glory. At the end of the day my desire is that God would have used me up and taken every ounce of potential in me and spent it on His people and the advancement of His kingdom. What about you?
