Remember our beautiful annual Winter Solstice celebration tonight - TopicsExpress

Remember our beautiful annual Winter Solstice celebration tonight at the church, honoring darkness, both in the world and in ourselves, on the longest night of the year. The service tonight is at the church and begins at 7:00 pm. All ages are invited, but please know that a central part of the service is 12 minutes of darkness and silence (each minute to symbolize one month of the year) as we turn off all the lights and sit together quietly. Each family may consider for themselves whether they think their children can sit through that time quietly. As a bonus, here is one of the best songs out there, The Longest Night, by Peter Mayer, celebrating this day and this night. Happy Winter Solstice to each and all! (the pics are OK - but it is better just to close your eyes and listen)
