Remember that wall of separation they keep talking about... When Jefferson wrote that line in a letter to a group of concerned Baptists, it was intended to assure them that the government will not seek to interfere with their practice of faith. He never intended the current popular interpretation that the Church should not influence government. In fact, He welcomed it. That being said, the influence of the Church is needed. The 114th United States Congress, composed of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives is scheduled to meet in Washington, D.C. from January 3, 2015 to January 3, 2017, during the final two years of Barack Obamas presidency. Start with a commitment to pray for your senators and representatives each day. They will need great wisdom in the task before them. Encourage them in every way possible. Let them hear from you on issues before them.
