Remember the dog chained behind the Walmart? Shes on the mend. Courtney, the name given by animal rescuers caring for a dog that resorted to dire measures and chewed off her leg to free herself from a chain, is “doing great” a representative of that group said Thursday. “She’s up and running around. She likes to take walks in the snow,” said Melanie Wittner, who operates A Hopeful Heart animal rescue in Roseville. “She doesn’t even know (her leg) is gone.”
