Remember the old saying - The Mail Must go Through? It doesnt apply these days. A few weeks ago, on a Thursday, I needed a repeat of a prescription, but couldnt get to our doctor about 10km away because I didnt have a car available. So I phoned and asked if the script could be posted out. The receptionist said shed send one, and posted it about 9.30 am, presuming Id get it the following day (which is usual these days), Friday came and went without the letter, as did Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and finally, late on Thursday afternoon after the shops had closed, the script arrived in the mail. Hows that for fast delivery? If I hadnt been able to borrow some of my wifes pills (shes on the same medication that must be taken daily), and replace them when I got mine, I would have been a week without them. But if it had been something more important, I would have suffered ... thanks to the inability and inefficiency of Australia Post to do their job properly.
