Remember the year scmm commenced 2003 guess. ....I had just being posted to Mumbai and was doing my tenure in One of the premiere institution of navy the Naval Dockyard the largest shipyard in Asia. With more than 8000 employees both civilian force and uniformed personnel. One such fine day.....a internal communication came to the workcentre. Dockyard has more than 101 work centres. The mail was about participation in SCMM. Since not many people had voluntary participated, Navy decided to nominate young officers (I was 26 then). We were motivated by saying that u all are academy trained and had done ur camps too. Frankly many of us shammed and turned up for dream run. Since attendance was compulsory. I use to wonder how people run 21kms forget 42kms. ......and why they spend so much time running. It was not my passion then. ....today like many of you its I run therefore I am ...... Inspite of running for six years and more than 40 plus 21kms and above......I still feel nervous and excited about SCMM. Enjoy ur moment. ......
