Remember these? My mom and dad had a green one. Fond (not really that fond though) memories of my dad teaching me how to drive ours when I turned 16. It had a standard tranny. I recall him making me drive to a meeting that I had to attend. The roads werent paved then, and the spring thaw was making potholes everywhere. In fact, in some spots, the roads were flooded right across! I had to keep shifting gears, brake every few yards, and swerve to avoid the deepest puddles. Needless to say I stalled the engine again and again. I kept suggesting that he take over the driving, but he said, How are you going to learn? The meeting was almost over by the time I got there. I was all flustered after that experience for sure but I did learn to drive that darn thing. Oh, and I had to change a tire on it once- he stood back and told me what to do, but wouldnt help. I havent had to change a tire since then! But I know what to do... Just call Onstar!
