Remember to doublecheck days and hours of operation if youre planning a visit to a Jean Lafitte site this week---park staff will be heading to Chalmette Battlefield for the Battle of New Orleans bicentennial so other park sites will shut d...own as the week goes by. And remember that although the Chalmette Battlefield Visitor Center is usually closed on Sundays, on Sunday, January 11, the visitor center will be open 11:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and you can park at the battlefield that day.
