Remember what the GCSB changes actually mean - the infrastructure - TopicsExpress

Remember what the GCSB changes actually mean - the infrastructure to required collect all our data has not yet been fully installed everywhere – as far as sites like Facebook and yahoo Google Gmail yes, as these are American server functions and that data is collected – however as far as our banking systems – our New Zealand based local ISP , private ISP and email services , Company intranet services, university research accounts and services, this data hasn’t been collected before . The GCSB bill creates the framework for this to now be done legally – the actual bill that forces the necessary infrastructure to be installed to make all this data collection possible is the TIC bill (the telecoms interception capability and security). This will cause many changes, essentially installing hardware to split data transmission so that one copy goes to your intended recipient and a split stream goes to the NSA. Hardware is either being or will have to be installed at every ISP provider and on every cable to achieve this function.
