Remembered No More By Ron Johnson Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea (Micah 7:18,19, ESV). When God forgives, He forgets. Because of Gods steadfast love and compassion, our sins are figuratively trampled underfoot and buried in the depths of the sea, never to be brought against us. Unfortunately, this is not the case with people. We can travel down lifes road only to have something from years ago brought up and thrown in our face. Not so with God. When He forgives, the matter is forever buried and will never resurface. The prophet Jeremiah writes, The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22,23). It is because of the eternally, enduring love of God that His mercy is never exhausted. God loves us as His dear children and earnestly desires to shower us with His abundant blessings in Christ. You see, when Christ died upon the cross He exhausted the wrath of God against our sin. Jesus, by His one perfect sacrifice, paid the penalty of all sin for all time. The death of Jesus reconciled us with God the Father. All we must do is accept that sacrifice and make Christ our Lord.
