† Remembering - OCT 21: **1965 – Bill Black, American bass player (The Blue Moon Boys) (b. 1926) William Patton Bill Black, Jr. (September 17, 1926 – October 21, 1965) was an American musician who is noted as one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. Black was the bassist in Elvis Presleys early trio and the leader of Bill Blacks Combo. After two operations and lengthy hospital stays, Black died of a brain tumor on October 21, 1965, at the age of thirty-nine. His death occurred during his third operation that doctors had hoped would eradicate the tumor once and for all. Presley was criticised for not attending the funeral, but he believed that his presence would turn it into a media frenzy. He decided instead to visit the family privately after the service to express his condolences. According to Louis Black, Presley said, If theres anything that yall need, you just let me know and its yours...... O:) **2003 – Fred Berry, American actor and dancer (b. 1951) Fred Rerun Berry (March 19, 1951 – October 21, 2003) was an American actor and street dancer. He was best known for the role of Fred Rerun Stubbs on the popular 1970s television show Whats Happening!!. On October 21, 2003, Berry died at his Los Angeles home, where he was recovering from a stroke............ O:) **2006 – Sandy West, American singer-songwriter and drummer (The Runaways) (b. 1959) Sandy West (July 10, 1959 – October 21, 2006) was an American musician, singer, songwriter, and drummer. She was one of the founding members of The Runaways, the first teenage, all-girl hard rock band to record and achieve widespread commercial success in the 1970s.
