Remembering 9/11..... I saw a post this morning stating we need to be ONE NATION UNDER GOD AGAIN....this prompted me to write this post.when was the last time I felt this way. ..9/11/01....after the attacks thats when....I remember that day with such clarity. Not only do I remember what I saw I remember the smells....jet fuel. I remember all of us in the streets all wondering if we were going to be attacked next. I remember standing in the street and hearing the plane overhead and thinking this was it. Later to find out it was our own fighter jets...I remember looking for my co workers we were spread out in several buildings...I remember thinking I have to let my family know I was alright....all phones were jammed. I remember how quiet we all were in the streets....thousands and thousands of people. We were united.....traffic was bumper to bumper....I remember no horns blowing....quiet....then I remember my colleague who is no longer with us...Donald Battle telling me he would get me out of the city....I remember 5 of us getting into the car....wondering which way do we go....Donald decided that we would try 14 th Street bridge...I remember thinking no way...for those of us who worked or lived in this area know that road goes right in front of the Pentagon... But that is the route we took..we all needed to get to Alexandria Va. Some lived there...and for me that is were Craig ( my husband ) was working...and locked down in Alexandria Hospital. I remember we were the only car on the road.surprisingly it had not been shut down......the next thing I remember is seeing the Pentagon burning and smelling the jet fuel....I think we all were changed forever after seeing that.....I remember how work went on without missing a beat....no choice in that....I remember that for months after we were UNITED...AS A NATION we were all on the same side.....we honked our horns out of friendship waving...yelling God Bless the USA.....the point I am trying to make is I hope and pray that it doesnt take another 9/11 to bring us back together again......We all need to Unite now to prevent another 9/11 from happening again. Time to unite and be ONE NATION UNDER GOD AGAIN.....
