Remembering Our Hero and Founder of Malawi Nation: Ngwazi Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda “Today 25 November marks the 18th year since 1997 when Malawi lost one of her luminaries: Ngwazi Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda, the farther and founder of the Malawi nation. To many of us and generations to come, Kamuzu will ever be remembered as courageous, visionary and loving leader the nation has ever had. Dr Banda was an extraordinary visionary who truly cared for his people. He pursued socio-economic policies that were for the benefit of all Malawians disregarding tribal, regional and religious colors one has. Throughout his life as the President of Malawi and his party MCP, he emphasized that “we are all one”. As we seek to build a better and a more prosperous nation than he helped create, let us never forget the values and principles that made, and continue to make us all proud to be Malawians. We should all strive to preserve the sense of quality, hardworking and dialogue which created a strong foundation of our nation to date.
