Remembering the magical Doc Pomus today ... Longtime friend,jazz singer Jimmy Scott performed this song at Doc Pomus funeral, a performance which singularly resurrected Jimmys career. Other attendees included Seymour Stein, who signed Scott to his Sire Records label, and Lou Reed who would regularly work with Scott until his death. Pomus had been imploring his friends to see Scott play for many years.
