Remembrance day November the 11th, we honour the fallen and remember on that day On parade or going to church everyone has their own way Some will march with pride, medals worn proudly on their chest But what about the others, the ones we don’t see, what about the rest? George sold his medals long ago when his money was all spent He now sleeps on the streets, in his little makeshift tent No marching with his comrades or going on the church parade He just cowers in the corner still proud but very much afraid For George survived while others died, he lived to tell their tale He can remember all their names and recall each face in detail He lives with his memories and has learnt to survive each day For him and many others, every day, is Remembrance Day Peter Southern
