Remind yourself daily that Gods word is the map of your future. Trust the guidance you find in there. Throw yourself into the journey He has laid out for you. I was doing a lesson with my class at church last night, and we were comparing the Bible to a road map. If you are getting ready to take a trip to a place youve never been, a road map/GPS is a necessity. If you turn off your GPS, or fail to look at your map, you may take wrong turns, get lost and fail to reach your destination. You could just guess at the roads to take based upon the visual appeal of each. You could also ignore the directions on the GPS/map and ask someone else how to reach your destination. This would require you to put your trust in their knowledge of the route. They might seem like they know the directions to get you where you want to go, but again, you may find yourself on a road to a place that you didnt plan to go. We discussed the importance of reading the Bible for your self, so you have guidance how to live your life. It tells us what pleases/displeases God, gives us commandments to follow, tells us how to treat others etc. If we fail to read Gods word, and just guess at what decisions to make/how to live our lifes, the end result may not be pleasant. Some people dont read the Bible for themselves and trust the interpretation of others. Not a good decision. Make sure the directions given to you by others is in accordance with Gods word. You wont know whether it is or not if you dont read for yourself. Read and know Gods word for yourself. Within its covers you will find directions to a Heavenly destination.
