Reminder… CCW Defensive Pistol Match Monday at 5:30PM This match is a fun way to test yourself and your carry setup. So dress like you dress, carry like you carry. 4 to 5 stages 12 rounds max, less than 60 total but bring 100 for insurance (or get some at the range) A stage involves a scenario, for instance, an attack at an ATM, or opening the trunk of your car, or clearing a bedroom in your house. You may be asked to use one hand, possibly your weak hand (to simulate injury to your primary). *** Scoring… **** This measures time + accuracy. Your score is the time you took to solve the scenario, with time added for off center hits, misses, and violations of stage procedures (for instance not hiding behind the car when shooting). No shoots simulate innocent by-standers, and depending on the scenario you may also be penalized for an unaccounted round (shot fired, no hole in paper). Max stage size is 12 rounds, which we deem to be the maximum a smaller loaded carry gun + 1 round in chamber + extra mag. *** Equipment… What you carry *** Keep in mind the purpose of this is to test you and your carry gear as you carry it. So keep competition specific things out. No vests, unless you walk around town like that. No speed rigs, the holster must be concealable. Pistol + 1 magazine (or speed loader if a revolver) Any caliber We will use lower light in the shoot house, a gun light is permissible, or a hand light (we have ones to lend). Holster must cover the trigger. We prefer a belt holster or IWB holster, which must be concealed. If you carry in your pocket, you must have a pocket holster that covers the trigger. If you carry in your purse, we will need to check it prior to match use (our basic requirement is the trigger be covered when you are grabbing at the gun under time stress). Sorry… shoulder holsters not permitted. They are a valid carry option but we cant have spectators or safety officials behind the shooters when they are used. No need to use defensive ammo, unless you want to confirm it works in your pistol. Practice/target/fmj ammo is fine.
