Reminder: DEADLINE February 13, 2015 Connecticut Dance Alliance presents the ELENA DELVECCHIO RUSNAK DANCE EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP Elena was a passionate dancer, dance educator and advocate, and before she passed away she let us know that she wanted to leave an annual scholarship for a student who wished to become a dance educator, and for CDA to manage the administration of the award. We are so very happy to remember her in this way and so, with her daughter Cate, we are proud to announce this generous scholarship for the first time. The $1,000 annual scholarship award is for undergraduate students who will be Connecticut high school seniors in the coming academic year, or current college students entering their freshman, or sophomore year at a Connecticut college or university. The scholarship will be administered by the Connecticut Dance Alliance which will assist in the management of the award and the selection of the awardee. To qualify, applicants must be (or will be) majoring in dance or dance education, or must be pursuing an education degree with a cross endorsement in dance, with intentions of pursuing a career in dance education. Applicants must submit: * A video showing you performing a piece (3 minutes or less) that showcases your technique and dance style. It does not have to be original choreography. * A two-part essay - The first part should explain your passion for dance and your plan to pursue a career as a dance educator. The second part should explain your video submission and why you chose the piece you are presenting. * Two letters of recommendation Please be sure to include your email address with your application. Once your application is received, you will receive an email invitation to a Dropbox link from catecraig83@gmail . You will then be able to upload your video submission to a priviate Dropbox account via this link for the committee to view.
