Reminder: There will be a Group 4 Recruiting Workshop on August - TopicsExpress

Reminder: There will be a Group 4 Recruiting Workshop on August 23, 0900 at the HQ of the Douglas Cadet Squadron in Douglas GA. This will be a WORKING workshop. The South Georgia Outdoor Expo is being held that weekend in downtown Douglas, August 22 and 23 (Friday and Saturday). A vendor space for a recruiting booth has already been secured. This is a large regional festival; last year we had thousands of visitors from all over Georgia and northern Florida. We recruited hard each day and the Douglas squadron picked up multiple members. Since visitors come from a wide geographical area you very well could get the chance to recruit for your squadron. However in any case, we will go over some recruiting basics at the squadron HQ that morning, then go to the festival and put what we have learned into practical use. I will go over recruiting basics and Maj Richard Bush, the Group 4 Commander, will speak about retention related matters. I will be recruiting with the Douglas squadron both days (Friday and Saturday after the workshop); however those coming from outside the Douglas area should arrive at the squadron HQ by 0900 Saturday morning and be prepared to leave after the festival concludes that day. This is an informal workshop, not a professional development course, therefore it will not be necessary to send in a CAPF 17, however you are expected to bring a CAPF 161 (Emergency Information Form); also if you plan to attend please let either Maj Bush or myself know you will be there. V/r, Capt. Tim Ledford Director of Recruiting & Retention Civil Air Patrol - Georgia Wing 800-A Dobbins Patrol Rd, Hanger 5, Room 2110 Dobbins ARB, GA 30069-4210
