Reminder to SHS Seniors: There is a new SHS Scholarship - the PERSERVERANCE AND UPLIFT SCHOLARSHIP. This $5,000.00 scholarship will be awarded at graduation to a Stoughton High School senior who has exhibited perseverance and uplift during his/her high school years. Persevere is defined as, “To continue to try to do something in spite of the difficulties.” Uplift is defined as, “To raise or improve socially or morally; Social or moral betterment or the effort to secure it.” CRITERIA Application must write an essay of no more than 500 words explaining how he/she has demonstrated perseverance and uplift in their academics, and/or social (family, friends, fellow students), and/or his/her school community, and/or the Town of Stoughton. Applicant must have been admitted and plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college or university in the Fall of 2014. A demonstrated need. We will be attaching your SHS Master Scholarship Application form to show your admittance to a college and your demonstrated need.Guidance will e-mail student’s application & essay to the donor. Guidance MUST have your application essay no later than 10:00 am on Friday, May 16, 2014 - NO EXCEPTIONS. THE AWARD The winner of the scholarship can direct that the award is forwarded to the school of his/her choice to be used towards his/her tuition, fees, and/or books.
