Renae: So, we were talking about Platos ideas and Aristotles form and substance Kai: Wait, a lot of the philosophers ideas werent just smart, they were actually quite beautiful ideas. R: Hmmmm... K: sometimes we like to create a little world in our heads that is soft and warm and simple. But the philosophers, they worked hard. and they were thinking. their job was to think. And, I think in a way, all of our ideas are true. Because, IS there a TRUTH?. If there is a truth, well never know it, so we may as well believe anything. R: Well, a lot of philosophers say, What is the better story? Thats the thing to believe is the better story. Because what makes you feel full of life and happy and curious to be alive and connected? Isnt it better to believe that story. There are many different ways to frame the world. Many different stories to make up about what is the nature of reality.... Whats the best story. K: You know what, in our minds, we think, science is science and science will always be. In our minds we think that people will always think that everything in science is that, the truth. But peoples minds change. Science and philosophy are always changing. Maybe everything just happens because it does, or maybe the whole world is just an illusion. Nothing exists. But Id rather think about science, and everything being real, because that means youre real (she kisses me at this point). R: Its nice to think about everything being real. But, does it make them any less real because they are an illusion? Just because they are story? Maybe the story is all there is, and maybe thats great.
