Renew Your Mind Along with setting our minds on right things, we also need to renew our minds. Romans 12:2 says, …Be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind…so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God…. Renewing your mind is a continual process. You can’t expect to be a victorious Christian if you don’t spend time studying the Word of God on an ongoing basis. This means we need to make a commitment to study God’s Word consistently and think about the things it tells us to think about on purpose. One good scripture to start with is Philippians 4:8, which says to think about things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy (NIV). It takes time to grow in your relationship with Christ and renew your mind to think like God thinks. I want to encourage you to be determined to press on, one day at a time, in your decision to spend time with God in prayer and by studying the Word. Focus on Jesus and the progress you are making, by God’s grace, little by little each day. And resist any condemnation that comes against you with thoughts about how far you have to go. God loves you and He’s pleased with you as a new creation in Christ.
